Astonbury - The Artists

Once again the team are working hard to make sure that Astonbury 2010 will be even bigger and better than before. As usual we will be showcasing local singers and musicians.

Astonbury is a chance for local talent to shine, so as always, there is an invite from anyone from the village or associated with someone in the village to come forward. If you play an instrument, sing or are in a band then just give Nigel (681152), Neil (681201) or John (681685) a ring to fix a time for a chat.

Please note that the acts shown here are currently scheduled to appear, but the actual acts on the night may vary due to circumstances beyond our control.

Some of the acts we hope to have this year (subject to confirmation) include :

the spokes We are looking forward to welcoming excellent local band The Spokes this year. Check out their website here

Squid went down a storm at the 2009 Astonbury and we hop to have them back this year. You can find out more about them at their website.

In Reverence Gospel Choir first came to Astonbury in 2006 and lifted the whole evening with the sheer exuberance of their singing and playing. They are not yet confirmed for 2010, but we have our fingers crossed.

Anthony and Nigel Palmer have always been popular Astonbury performers. This year Nigel (on the left) will be performing solo for the first time.

Jade and Nikita will be making their debut at this year's Astonbury. Two local girls from Aston Abbotts - they are this year's new discovery. At the top of this page you will read note inviting budding local talent to come forward. Jade and Nikita did just that and we are delighted that they will be joining us in 2009.

Dennis and his friends were a new band last year and we will be welcoming them back in 2010.

john John Whyte is another key astonbury performer and part of the organising team. John sings both solo and as part of the Chunkies.

Simon Gresswell. Simon was discovered by us in the village as a good old time rock and roll voice. He is as much at home singing Sinatra as Zeppelin.

Last, but by no means least, The Chunkees. Chunkee by name, chunkie by nature, they are guaranteed to get the audience on their feet.

The Chunkees used to be Gerry and the 'Atricks until one of their number left the country saying that he couldn't stand the shame any more, The name came from Hey Hey we're the Chunkees……

This is how it's looking with only a few weeks to go. Of course, anything could happen. And it usually does...
