Frequently Asked Questions

When and where?
Saturday July 19th. Gates open at 6.30 pm. Start time at 7.30 pm. It is held at the Recreation Ground in Aston Abbotts, Buckinghamshire.

How do I get tickets?
Speak to John Whyte. If you don't know John then email us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Can I bring the kids?
Absolutely - yes! This is very much a family event and show and many people bring children of all ages. The swings in the play area are open, but the aerial runway behind the stage is cordoned off for safety reasons.

What sort of music do you have?
We've had all sorts over the previous six shows. It's predominately pop music from the last 50 years, but we have had gospel, jazz, drum rhythms, rock - it's a real pot pourri.

Is it a professional show?
Most of the performers are local people, their friends, or their relatives. Some of the artists are professional or semi-professional - others sing only a few times a year. We have a proper stage with lights and sound system and the team work very hard to achieve a high standard.

Is there food and drink available?
No - please bring you own picnic and a bottle or two. We have discussed running a barbecue, but there are no plans at the moment. Should there be any change in this we will keep you informed via our latest news page.

Are there any toilet facilities?
Of course - toilets are installed on the site for the day.

What happens if it rains?
If it looks like there might be a shower then bring an umbrella or waterproof with you. If the weather is very wet then the event may have to be postponed or cancelled as the ground will be muddy and we have to protect both the electrical equipment and everybody's safety.

What should I bring with me?
BBB Something to sit on (rug or chair)
  Something to eat
  Something to drink
A jacket for when the sun goes down
Perhaps an umbrella or showerpoof jacket

Can I bring a gazebo?
Yes. Gazebos are restricted to the rear, to enable those sitting on the ground to get a good view. You might want to get there a little early to be sure of getting a good pitch.

Where do I park?
Parking space is limited. Most of the audience are local and either walk or park at a friend's house. Cars are not allowed on the recreation ground (except for equipment delivery and disabled access) so find a parking space in the village, but please park sensibly and with consideration for the local residents.

What about disabled access?
The recreation ground is level, but please contact us before the day if you need to make special arrangements or park closer.
