What To Expect On The Day

If you are a first time visitor, or even if you have been before, you might like to read this section which gives you some useful information.

Astonbury is an open-air event, so you need to bring something to sit on. Maybe a rug - or lightweight chairs like those folding chairs you get from camping shops and service stations these days are ideal.

The show starts at 7.30, but you might want to get there a little bit earlier to get a nice spot. Gazebos must be erected at the rear, as shown on the site map on the right.

Most people have a picnic evening meal during the event, so you may well like to bring some food. A bottle or two of your favourite tipple goes down well. (Frankly, disposing of the huge quantity of empty bottles and cans after the event can be a little embarrassing.)

July weather in England should be good, but can be a little unpredictable. Whatever happens it gets quite a lot cooler after the sun goes down, so bring a jumper or jacket in case you get chilly. If it looks like it could shower you might want to bring an umbrella or waterproof - just in case.

This year we hope to move everybody a little closer, to give a better view and sound to people in the gazebos at the rear.
