Queens Diamond Jubilee -2,012 Beacons will be lit across the UK to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee on Monday 4th June. In Buckinghamshire, the aim is to have 60 Beacons throughout the county. The first 60 Buckinghamshire Beacons to officially register by April 30th will have the location of their Beacon in a special book given to the Queen. The meetings, being held at locations around the county, will allow parents and residents to hear detailed information on the proposed changes to mainstream school policy and ask questions and discuss options with Mike Appleyard, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, and Buckinghamshire County Council officers. The meetings follow the announcement last Monday (14 November) that Cabinet had approved a further consultation on the proposed changes to home to school transport.
