Aston Abbotts in Buckinghamshire Best Kept Villages
Welcome to the official home of Aston Abbotts' bid for the prestigious
Buckinghamshire Best Kept Village award! As a vibrant community
nestled in the heart of the county, we are incredibly proud of our
village – a place where rich history meets modern life, and where a
strong sense of community thrives. This year, we're pulling out all the
stops to showcase the beauty, charm, and collective effort that makes
Aston Abbotts truly special. Join us as we highlight our picturesque
greens, meticulously cared-for spaces, bustling community spirit, and
all the reasons why we believe Aston Abbotts is a worthy contender
for this coveted title.
It’s in recent years that we have taken more of an interest in the
competition, however, in 1984 we were winners of the Gurney Cup
(category for villages under 500 residents). We then reprised our
entry and won again in 2019, and were also runners-up in 2024.
In 2022 (after the competition was suspended for the COVID
pandemic), as a result of winning in 2019 we were entered into the
Tindall Cup. This was a competition for all the winners of all the
categories from the previous competition - and we won that! We
were best of the best - in the eyes of the judges!

On behalf of the village, I’d like to thank the organising committee at Bucks Best Kept Villages for arranging this friendly competition; it’s great to
see so many villages and towns in Bucks getting involved to show off what’s great about their location.
Thank you also to the sponsors for supporting this great cause.
